Dance has always been popular. The work that goes into being a great dancer takes years and years of dance classes. It is important not only to have the right clothing for this recreational sport, but also the right footwear. When comparing different dance shoes you should be aware not only of the importance of design. Other points must also be observed when buying.

Dance is movement. The right shoe has to fit so firmly on the foot. If you have to be on your toes, your heel should not slip out. A foot-bed supports the foot and provides security for fast movements and a firm stance. Soft leather gives way to ensure that there are no pressure points being bothered.

The sole of the dance shoe is made of suede. This guarantees a good grip and prevents slipping while dancing. Therefore you should not wear dance shoes on the street because the sole is damaged.

For female dancers a higher heel is appropriate when the size difference between the dance partners is very relevant. Otherwise, mostly 4 cm heels are selected. Amateur dancers tend to use shoes with smaller heels. There is actually a broad array of dance shoes to choose from to suite anyone from traditional dancers to dancers with a flare and from students just starting out to scholars of dance.

Dance shoes for ladies are available in various designs and colors; both shoes with and without straps to choose from. The straps are not only for the look but will help the firm hold on the foot. Men wear two different forms of dance shoe. The Latin dance shoes tend to have a heel of about 3 cm. The standard shoes look like normal street shoes.

Dance shoes are generally more expensive than normal shoes. The high quality materials and excellent workmanship, however, justify the higher price.
