The eighteenth amendment of the U.S. Constitution banned the production, sale and trade of the alcohol. This was the period of 1920 to 1930 that prolonged in some states. This time period was called prohibition. Liquor was strictly forbidden in U.S. however the government could not stop the illegal selling of it. The U.S. citizens were using liquor much than before because of Speakeasy. Speakeasies were the clubs involved in illegal selling of liquor. 

It was the 18th of December, 1917 when Senate proposed eighteenth amendment. Alcohol's use and trade was announced illegal according to this amendment. It was sanctioned on 16th of January, 1919 and implemented on January 17, 1920. This law was being introduced in all over the country but among the total, 36 states gave its approval without any objection. However, few states executed this law before the complete implementation of prohibition, statewide.

In October 28, 1919 legitimate definition of intoxicating liquids was cited. The penalties and punishments were also fixed for those who were involved in manufacturing or trading of liquors. This National Prohibition Act was named as “Volstead Act”. This act was approved over Veto of President Woodrow Wilson by the Congress. Congress made this law however it was responsibility of the government to implement it. Lack of central government's interest in Volstead Act made this act ineffective. It seemed that it was merely a paper work. There were almost 40,000 to 100,000 speakeasy clubs till 1925. 

At that time speakeasy clubs were providing the fantastic services. They were the biggest source of attraction for liquor drinkers and food lovers also. Speakeasy singers and dancers were drawing their attention with their fancy costumes. Besides that, they were providing the variety of foods. 

There are many speakeasy club lovers and I am one of these lovers. Therefore, I want to open my own speakeasy club. I want to bring back the speakeasy traditional clubs. I have a plan to provide my customers the best liquor and delicious foods. There would be also expert dancers along with the band of mellifluous singers. Clients would relish their super, dinner, breakfast and the background of jazz.
